Recombining the elements of the onmyoji's garments into a modern form.
With inspiration from the kariginu robes worn by the onmyoji, this haori incorporates traditional Japanese patterns to emulate the characteristic shoulder slits, as well as other details like the sodekukuri cords along the sleeves.
The shoulder seams are positioned rather low, creating a drop shoulder look of modern days.
With a length slightly longer than usual, this item expresses the graceful atmosphere of the wise onmyoji.
On the printed pattern, the letter X is seamlessly incorporated into the traditional elements of the pattern.
Torii gates, ripples on the water, and yin-yang taiji diagrams — motifs reminiscent of the Heian period, floating atop the background of a haze (egasumi) pattern.
With both cherry blossoms and autumn leaves present out-of-season, this design expresses a concept that transcends the fabric of spacetime.
