With great success from last year, our Murasaki Shikibu project evolves to its next chapter.
Created in collaboration with the talented students of Takefu Commercial and Technical High School.
A long gilet vest for men and women alike, the interior depicting the breathtaking view of Mt. Hino and Hino River.
From reminiscences of Lady Murasaki Shikibu, her jūnihitoe comes to mind... The twelve-layered kimono, in turn, inspires the layered design of this year-round long vest.
Expressing the spirit of Lady Murasaki herself, this vest has a double-layered collar accented with her namesake color purple, creating a sophisticated color scheme that complements you regardless of gender.
From her times in Takefu, upon the sight of the snowed-down Mt. Hino and Hino River, she wove her poem with her longings for the capital... The very same transient imagery is captured within the inner lining of this vest.
The purple sky of near sunset, the early minutes of snow on Hino River and Mt. Hino, a fantastical scenery illustrated within its hidden depths.
Available in plain charcoal and a purple-striped black — two timeless designs to stand the test of trends.
