Redefining the Norms of Fashion
Our Challenge Towards Zero Waste

In the past, unsold garments were sometimes disposed of through incineration.

Recognizing this long-standing industry practice as a serious issue, we made a commitment in 2020 to pursue zero waste.
Since then, we have taken meaningful steps across the company, from revisiting our merchandising strategies to implementing data-driven demand forecasting for inventory control, along with developing systems for upcycling.

As a result, our product sell-through rates have improved significantly, and any remaining items are no longer disposed of, but instead given new life through remade designs and other forms of reuse.

In 2024, we also launched “PASTEQIDOR”, a new initiative centered on vintage and remade pieces.

Projects

01
Clothing Recycling Program

Customers may bring any axes femme items they no longer wear to our physical stores for collection.

We can bring a new life to your previously beloved items in many shapes and forms, including selling them as secondhand items at PASTEQIDOR or combining and upcycling them into remade pieces, so that they may find their ways to our loving customers once more.

02
Repair & Alteration Service

Do you have a favorite piece you haven’t been wearing lately, now quietly tucked away in your wardrobe?

In partnership with our dedicated cleaning specialist, we offer repair and alteration services such as button replacements, elastic waistband repairs, and hemming.

Our goal is to help your garments be worn, cherished, and enjoyed for years to come.

* This is a paid service currently available in Japan only.

Pre-owned axes femme items collected from our customers, along with remade items created by upcycling used garments and fabric remnants, are available at our vintage store.

We also offer customized products created in collaboration with local designers, as well as handcrafted items carefully made by individuals from social welfare support centers.

Director Message

Akinobu Igarashi, CEO

As an apparel brand, the issue of clothing waste has always been a significant challenge for us.

Of course, we believe in designing garments with character, to be cherished for long and hard to put down. Yet as the moment inevitably comes to part with them, we ask ourselves, is there anything we could do as a brand?

It was through this thinking that our “Zero Waste Project” was born.

Through our initiative, we launched PASTEQIDOR to offer garments collected from our customers as pre-owned pieces. Items that can no longer be reused in their original form are carefully taken apart into fabric and remade into new creations with a renewed value.

Our remake partner, “Imakoko,” has been a wonderful collaborator in this process. The owner is a fan of axes femme, and has even attended our fashion shows together with their team.

We are truly grateful to be working with partners who share a genuine appreciation for the brand. They have also contributed ideas — asking, “What about creating something like this?” — which has helped expand our range of remade items from an initial focus on scrunchies to a growing variety of designs.

We hope that more people will come to discover and connect with this initiative.
