DESCRIPTION
Unbound by gender,
transcending all genres,
a novel worldview comes alive.
A series with the theme of the classical Japanese anthology Hyakunin Isshu, designed by the talented students of Takefu Commercial and Technical High School.
Composed by Kakinomoto no Hitomaro:
「あしひきの山鳥の尾のしだり尾の 長々し夜をひとりかも寝む」
"The long tail of the copper pheasant trails, drags on and on like this long night alone in the lonely mountains, longing for my love." (*1)
Inspiring the design of this shirt are the words of this classic poem.
The back side of its main body invokes aspects of the "long tail of the copper pheasant".
Combined with the wide design of Japanese sleeves, it recreates the elegant silhouette of such birds.
Embroidered on the jacquard fabric of the necktie is a crescent moon, expressing the somber night.
Made with a uniform width, this tie can be tied into a typical necktie as well as a ribbon bowtie.
In the image of the "long night alone" that "drags on and on", each of the color variations express the changing colors throughout the different phases of the night sky.
