DESCRIPTION
[Introduction]
Penned by Minamoto no Yoshitsune, in a poem to Musashibo Benkei:
「後の世もまた後の世もめぐりあへ
染む紫の雲の上まで」
"Be it the next life, or the life after the next, let us cross paths once more
Beyond the top of the purple-dyed clouds we shall go"
One verse of the farewell poem, as inspiration for this series.
An otherworldly print of the night sky, surrounded by stars, the moon, and clouds, illustrates the landscape of the afterlife.
From the melancholy of parting ways in this lifetime, to the deep bonds that span three lifetimes — the past life, the present life, and the future life — the heart-rending tales of Yoshitsune and Benkei, well beloved through the ages, informs every inch of this design.
The design is of wide pants reminiscent of hakama, overlaid with an additional layer of sheer fabric.
Using sheer fabric to create a layer with an asymmetrical outline, this item presents a lightweight silhouette that changes in accord with your movements.
Buttoning it up transforms the silhouette to that of a wrap skirt.
The continuous row of metal buttons, fashioned into the shape of bellflowers, brings forth an atmosphere of traditional Japanese.
