DESCRIPTION
Unbound by gender,
transcending all genres,
a novel worldview comes alive.
A series with the theme of the classical Japanese anthology Hyakunin Isshu, designed by the talented students of Takefu Commercial and Technical High School.
Composed by Ariwara no Narihira:
「ちはやふる神代もきかず竜田川
からくれなゐに 水くくるとは」
“Such beauty unheard of, even in the age of the raging gods —
the Tatsuta River tie-dyeing its waters in autumnal colors.” (*1)
The words of one classic poem, rearranged into a modern form.
"Clothing that changes to suit the wearer" — based on such concept, this jacket can be worn coordinated as a complete set just as well as mixed with other items.
Onto the base silhouette of a contemporary Western garment, the groisgrain tapes printed with the traditional Japanese poem add a subtle Japanese accent.
The color variations of white, green, and black call back to the color scheme of karuta playing cards, on which all hundred poems are written for the fastest listeners to grab.
Complementing its classical silhouette is a pair of bellflower-shaped front buttons, adding a playful touch.
Its slim silhouette makes for an excellent item in both casual and formal settings.
